Future Of GBC DR Teams In Haiti:
In talking with NAMB, it looks like we will continue to send teams (nationally) like we've been doing for the past few weeks: primarily medical, chaplaincy, and house inspection/demolition. This has the potential of changing and we could see a swell in number of teams going. But at this point, it is now known what or when that would be.

Disaster Relief Volunteers have been part of 800 Professions of Faith!

Other Teams To Haiti:
There are other avenues for sending teams to Haiti. The IMB and BGR (Baptist Global Response) are apparently sending teams to Haiti without going through NAMB and SBC Disaster Relief. You certainly have my blessing to go with an organization if you have such a contact. I continue to urge you to make sure the following are in place before you think about going to Haiti:
- Where are you going to stay?
- Is there someone or some organization in Haiti ready to receive you?
- Can they assure you they will provide transportation, food, security, and meaningful work/ministry to do?
Some parts of the country might be safer than other parts. So it is also recommend you check with your partnering organization to make sure it's safe to take ladies. It would also be wise to discourage youth groups from going.
