Communication Services
Marketing & Public Relations
Communication Services functions primarily as the marketing and public relations arm of the Georgia Baptist Convention. It also serves to support Georgia Baptist Convention statewide ministries in “Healthy Kingdom Churches Empowering Kingdom Growth.” Our objective is to assist Georgia Baptist Convention ministries and services by providing materials, information, consultation, and marketing and promotional strategies in a spirit of cooperation and commitment to missions.

Publications
The main publications produced by this ministry include:
  • Georgia Baptist Missions and Ministry Guide (formerly known as the Georgia Baptist Digest)
  • Our Church Plans calendar/plan book
  • Georgia Baptist Convention pocket calendar
  • VantagePoint quarterly magazine
Promotional Support
Other promotional materials produced for ministry areas of the Convention include brochures, posters, flyers, newsletters, billboards, displays, videos, CDs, and novelty marketing items. We also support GBC ministries by providing marketing and media strategies to help them publicize and carry out events successfully. Our in-house Printing Services assists all ministries with their printing needs.

News Media
Communication Services acts as the official liaison between the Convention and the secular news media. In this capacity, we provide information, answer questions, and arrange interviews and news conferences with secular media representatives when necessary. If your church needs assistance with concerns about your local news media, please call us.

Radio Programming
In 2007, Communication Services launched a 24-hour-a-day Internet radio station at www.gbcradio.net. Known as GBC Internet Radio, the programming is a blend of Christian music, informational messages, program features, and sermons. In May 2009, a program called “Life With Purpose Radio” began airing on FamilyNet’s Sirius Satellite radio station 161 each Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 4:30 p.m.. The 30-minute program includes stories of inspiration from people all over the world who have made the commitment to follow where God leads. Online Media
Communication Services handles the design and content of the Convention’s Web site, www.gabaptist.org. The site was redesigned in May 2009 into a new user-friendly format and is a powerful tool for communicating the gospel and promoting the ministries of the Convention. The site features links to other sites that will be helpful to you and your church. Browse the site to see what’s new and tap into all the resources available to ministers and lay people.
