This year’s Interpreter Training Program topic is ” Idiomatic Voice Interpreting,” presented by Dr. Mary J. High, Director of the ASL Program at Gardner Webb University, B.A., Mars Hill College; M. Div., Th.M., Ph.D., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
This Professional workshop is offered for 1 CEU at the Intermediate Content Knowledge Level. The North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities.
This workshop will seek to help participants improve the quality of their voice interpreting by utilizing more idiomatic English word choices.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain what is involved in quality voice interpreting
- List and explain various English idioms and vocabulary choices
- Recognize various ASL signs and expressions that could be interpreted by an appropriate English idiom.
Time of fun, fellowship and worship for Hispanic youths in the South Georgia area. The cost includes meals, lodging, lifeguards, nurse, pool, use of facilities.
