Understanding the Impact of Casino Gambling

From An Academic Perspective

Join Professor John Kindt as he explores casino gambling and the impact on individuals, families and communities.

Casino gambling is currently illegal in Georgia and is often linked to crime, addiction, human trafficking and other social ills.  Much of that stems from the vast economic impact.

For 30 years Professor Kindt and his academic colleagues have testified frequently as expert witnesses before the U.S. Congress on the negative socio-economic costs of commercialized gambling (at least $3 in costs for every $1 in benefits).

His latest academic article was published November 1, 2021 along with 13 other authors in 9 academic articles in the University of Illinois Gambling Symposium.

Professor Kindt will provide community leaders and legislators with valuable insights.

A light dinner will be served for those who RSVP.  The event is free of charge.

John W. Kindt, MBA, J.D., LL.M., SJD, is a gambling critic and a Professor of Business and Legal Policy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since 1990, Professor Kindt has probably been best known as one of the most well-published academics in issues relating to gambling.
