How Do I Get Started as a GCRC? Any effective church ministry needs a plan. It can be a simple plan or a complex plan, but a plan is needed. Basically the plan is a way in which to mobilize God’s people to effectively proclaim the Gospel to all nations. That is Global Redemption at its heart. Luke 24:47 says, “and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47NASB)
One way to get started is through recognizing, identifying and reaching affinities. Reaching affinities begins when a church is in touch with its community and learns its interests, needs, hobbies, and concerns. It is listening to conversations and finding ways to aid, work with and meet needs. An affinity is any group with a common interest, activity, relationship, ideal or purpose through which we build friendships and relationships for the purpose of sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
Important questions to ask: Is the way you spend your time, the way you conduct your ministry now, in line with what you claim you are wanting to happen? Will your intended outcome result from your current ministry? If not, what do you need to change?
How do I get started as a GCRC? Here are some steps to take:
- PRAY and SEEK the Will of God for your church.
- Discover the Vision that God has for you.
- Identify the needs around you.
- Identify the passions of your people.
- Develop a detailed action plan based on the discovered will of God.
- Develop a strategy to move the membership along the Vision Path.
- Provide the necessary resources, support and training for your members.
Your regional state missionaries are ready and prepared to walk you through this. Leading your church to become a more effective Great Commission Resource Center can have a Global Impact “beginning at Jerusalem.”
GCRC (Great Commission Resource Center) helps the pastor to lead his church to reach Unengaged Affinity Groups through discovering the passion of the members and lead them to use their passion for God’s purpose of Global Redemption. The concept is simple, yet dynamic, and can lead your church to become actively involved in the Great Commission.
The GCRC concept is not another program to promote, but a concept that produces involvement; involvement which produces passion; passion which produces participation, and participation that leads the church to accomplish Acts 1:8.
Every church is a Great Commission Resource Center. The Great Commission was given to every church and every believer.
