We’ve all heard the old saying, If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got! As we look at the decline in baptisms and church growth, it seems many churches have fallen into doing the same old things the same old way. Maybe for tradition’s sake or maybe just because they just don’t know how to “do church” any differently. Either way, it shows it’s time for the church to have new life breathed into it. We need revitalization.
The dictionary states the word “revitalize” means to give new life to, or to give new vitality or vigor to.
It also states the word “revitalize’ is a verb. Verbs express ACTIONS. One of the ways a church can express ACTION and give new life, or revitalization, to the local congregation is to become a GCRC, a Great Commission Resource Center. The Great Commission should be the heartbeat of every church because it is the very heartbeat of God. Being involved as a GCRC can bring revitalization to the church, from being apathetic in its vision for missions and transform it into an advocate for reaching the lost world. The first step to transform the local church is to “take action” and find out how to become a GCRC.
The Church does not have to be in decline!
