The President of the United Stated each year gives a State of the Union Address. In this address he reports to the American citizens the condition of the nation and outlines his plans for the future. What if we had a State of the Church addressed to believers? If we did this in the local church each year what condition would we find it in? Many churches which were once vibrant and growing are now in decline. What happened?
STATE OF THE CHURCH
Some churches have no definite plans for evangelism and never reach their full potential to evangelize their own community. The heartbeat of every New Testament Church must be reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every member is a missionary facing the challenge to reach out not only locally, but globally! How can we address this in the State of the Church?
One of the greatest plans a church can adopt is becoming a Great Commission Resource Center. This will help the local church develop the strategy needed to be actively involved in carrying out the Great Commission. Contact your Regional State Missionary today to get more information.
Great Commission Resource Centers help the pastor lead his church to reach Unengaged Affinity Groups through discovering the passion of the members and lead them to use their passion for God’s purpose of Global Redemption. The concept is simple, yet dynamic, and can lead your church to become actively involved in the Great Commission.
The concept is not another program to promote, but a concept that produces involvement; involvement which produces passion; passion which produces participation, and participation that leads the church to accomplish Acts 1:8. The GCRC overview shows that every church is a Great Commission Resource Center. The Great Commission was given to every church and every believer.
Regional State Missionaries seek to develop relationships with associational missionaries, pastor, and staff, networking with them in order to minister, create a cohesive spirit, and support cooperative work among all churches. Three Regional State Missionaries are available to assist churches. As a field-based ministry, they have the availability of all the resources of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board to assist associations, churches, pastors, staff, and church leadership. Offices are located in Augusta, Valdosta, and Monroe.
