What is Missions Education?

Missions Education or Missions Discipleship is intended to teach and encourage children to be involved in missions locally and around the world. It shows them how to love those around them and how grow as Christ followers.

If you are interested in creating or strengthening any of the programs listed below, please reach out to our Georgia Baptist consultants.

Mission Friends (Preschool)

Mission Friends introduces boys and girls ages birth through kindergarten to God’s love for all people around the world.  Get them involved in understanding God and the truths from His Word and how He wants everyone to know Jesus.

Children in Action (1-6 grades)

Children in Action is for boys and girls in grades 1-6.  Children are able to hear first-hand from missionaries serving around the world and to learn what He is doing through their lives.  Being involved in missions discipleship helps children see God’s love for them and how they can share the message of Jesus with others.

Royal Ambassadors (1-6 grades)

Royal Ambassadors are guided by the Royal Ambassador Pledge. All boys in 1-6 grades will be challenged to become ambassadors for Christ. Through on-mission activities, fellowship, and activities, boys are shown how to carry the message of Christ around the world and be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.

Girls in Action (1-6 grades)

Girls in Action creates an environment that connects girls in grades 1-6 to missionaries serving around the world through stories and hands-on projects. Girls develop spiritually as they learn to pray, learn God’s Word, and learn to obey what God is saying to them. Get your girls involved in sharing Jesus with the people they know and meet.

Challengers (7-12 grades)

Challengers are those who are commission to challenge non-Christians to trust and follow Jesus.   They also challenge fellow Christians to be on mission with God. Their theme verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58. Our mission is to join God in His Mission of reconciling the world to Himself.  Ministry is meeting human needs all around us in obedience to Christ’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves. COME, GROW, SERVE, GO.

Acteens (7-12 grades)

Acteens for teenage girls guides them to look beyond themselves and become actively involved in missions and ministry. What happens in missions discipleship doesn’t just stay within the walls of the church; girls are challenged to live their lives openly for Christ in a very authentic and influential way. They grow to see that God can use them every day in countless ways to change their world.

Youth on Mission (7-12 grades)

Youth on Mission is a missions discipleship group for students in grades 7–12. Students who are active in Youth on Mission not only learn more about biblical truths, they also learn how to apply them in their daily lives. They have opportunities individually and in groups to put into practice what they are learning. This includes the opportunity to share their faith in Christ in a variety of ways and in a variety of settings.
