Reach Men with the Gospel Around the Table

By Steve Foster

One of the most effective ways to reach men is to create an environment where they feel comfortable, valued, and invited. A Men’s Steak Night is more than a great meal—it can become a powerful opportunity for life-changing gospel conversations. Many men who may never attend a traditional worship service will accept an invitation to a steak dinner, a time of fellowship, and an evening with other men. When a church intentionally plans the event with evangelism in mind, God can use it to change lives for eternity.

Ingredients for an Evangelistic Men’s Steak Night

Build Every Table with Purpose

Ask men in your church to sponsor a table for five or six guests. Encourage them to intentionally invite unchurched friends, neighbors, coworkers, teammates, or family members.

Share Real Stories

Schedule several men to briefly share how Jesus has transformed their lives. Authentic testimonies often open hearts to the gospel.

Proclaim the Gospel Clearly

Invite a gifted keynote speaker who will present a simple, biblical gospel message and give a clear invitation for men to trust Christ.

Make It a Church-Wide Priority

Place the event on your church calendar well in advance and promote it enthusiastically. The more your church embraces the vision, the greater the opportunity to reach lost men.

Use Table Sponsorships

The sponsorship cost can help cover the meal and speaker while giving church members an investment in reaching others.

Plan for Follow-Up

The event is only the beginning. Connect with every guest, celebrate every decision for Christ, and help new believers begin their journey of discipleship.

Prayer Is the Foundation

Don’t simply plan an event—pray over it.

Pray for:

  • Every man who will receive an invitation.
  • Every table sponsor and every guest.
  • Every testimony that will be shared.
  • The keynote speaker and the presentation of the gospel.
  • Every table, chair, and conversation.
  • The Holy Spirit to draw lost men to faith in Jesus Christ.

When churches pray, invite, share the gospel, and lovingly follow up, God often does extraordinary things.

Questions for Your Church

  • Who are five men you could invite today?
  • Is your men’s ministry intentionally focused on evangelism?
  • What would happen if every man in your church brought one lost friend?

Action Steps

  • Pray for three lost men by name this week.
  • Sponsor or host a table at your next Men’s Steak Night.
  • Personally invite men who need Jesus—not just church members.
  • Keep the gospel central to every part of the evening.
  • Follow up with every guest and help them take their next step toward Christ.

A steak may attract men to the table, but the gospel is what changes hearts.

Let’s create intentional opportunities for men to hear the good news of Jesus and respond in faith.
